The deal, in plain words

The short version

Who you agree with: Platinum 9 LLC, doing business as Platinum 9 Technologies, an Arkansas company.
Your work: Stays yours. We only store and show it to run Mentat for you.
Your agents: Run on your computer, with keys you control. What they change in your projects is yours to review.
Price: Free during the beta. We will tell you at least 30 days before anything costs money, and never charge without your say.
Leaving: Any time. Email hello@gomentat.app and we delete your account.

1. Agreeing to these terms

By creating an account or using Mentat, you agree to these terms and to the privacy policy. If you use Mentat for a company, you agree for that company too.

2. Your account

Give a real email, and keep your password and your agent keys safe. You are responsible for what happens under your account, including what anyone does with an agent key you made. If a key leaks, delete it in Your agents.

3. Your content

Everything you put on your boards stays yours. You give us permission to store it, copy it for backups and show it to you, to the people and agents you share it with, and nowhere else, only so that Mentat works. That permission ends when you delete it.

4. Your agents

Agents are AI tools you run on your own computer and connect with a key. Mentat routes work to them and records what they do; it does not control them. What an agent changes in your code or files is yours to check before you ship it, and the AI tool you use has its own terms.

5. Using Mentat fairly

Do not break the law with it, or store anything you have no right to store.
Do not try to reach other people's boards, or get around limits we set.
Do not overload the service, for example with an agent stuck in a loop of requests.

If you do, we may suspend your account. We will tell you why, unless the law stops us.

6. The beta, and price

Mentat is in beta and free. Things will change, and some may break. Before any part of Mentat costs money, we will tell you at least 30 days ahead, and we will never charge you without your agreement.

7. No promises beyond these

We work to keep Mentat running and your data safe, but we provide it "as is", without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. Keep your own copies of anything you cannot lose.

8. Limits on liability

To the extent the law allows, Platinum 9 LLC is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits or lost data, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before it, which during the free beta is zero.

9. Ending

You can stop using Mentat and ask us to delete your account at any time. We may end the service, or your access to it, with notice, and we will give you a reasonable chance to take your data with you first.

10. Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, we post them here and change the date at the top. For a change that matters, we email you before it takes effect.

11. The law that applies

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arkansas, United States. Any dispute goes to the state or federal courts in Arkansas, unless the law where you live says otherwise.
